Yes Men was a very entertaining movie to me, for a while, but it soon lost its taste. I feel the movie would have been much better had it lasted, say, forty-five minutes, but the further the Yes Men brought us into their film, the more I started to think they were not much more than immature douche bags. I respect everything they did with the ‘Golden Skeletons’ and the fake BBC report, but after those two sequences, they just seemed to spiral downward in their lies and it simply became childish. I agree with what they try to do, but I feel they should start to realize when enough is enough and take a defeat.
Edge of Art: Video Game Recruitment
12 03 2012“The designers claim a
number of features that make this military tactical-
action game authentic: 1. it’s based on actual US
Army infantry doctrine; 2. its advanced AIsimulates
the behavior of soldiers in intense combat
conditions; 3. rules of engagement simulate real-
world conditions; 4. weapons reflect those currently
in use by the US Army; 5. soldier animation is based
on live footage of combat veterans. ”
1) This quote shows that the Army obviously has a lot invested in their video game recruitment methods. It also shows that they are not only interested in creating an entertaining experience, but also a very realistic (not to mention propaganda-rich) experience. It’s no secret that in today’s world, a shooter video game is going to draw attention from young men.
2) How important was it to have a realistic feel?
What made them to choose to do one thing as opposed to another? What aspects did they decide to omit.
3) Full Spectrum Warrior

How Occupy Wall Street Changes Everything
16 01 20121) With the Occupy Movement, the 99%’s interests can no longer be ignored. A political power with the force of millions has been created and issued invitations to a new world.
2) The Occupy Movement is a horizontal power because there is no chosen leader, each member has equal power, which fractures our status quo because we have never had a political group like this. The People’s Mic is an example of new media.

The World Need You to see it with Fresh Eyes
16 01 20121) I feel the media tends to paper over the war in Iraq. There are several, less popular vehicles that seem to focus on a much truer war than I feel is generally shown to us in the news. The media tries to facade the truths of war in order to keep the people in support of its government.
2) In most cases, we are expected to ‘sit back and enjoy the show’ with our government, because we are aiming to elect competent leaders to take over for us. Times such as if in a group project a leader is not stepping up is when you can ‘grab the wheel.’

What is New Media? Vin Crosbie
16 01 20121) The three transportation media are land, water, and air. The difference between a transportation vehicle and a transportation media is that vehicles are used to convey use of media.
2) The three communication media are the Interpersonal Medium, the Mass Medium, and and ‘New Medium.’ Some examples of communication vehicles and media are a TV or radio used to convey mass media, or an e-mail being used to convey Interpersonal Medium.
3) Interpersonal Medium:
Pros:
- Each participant has equal and reciprocal control of content
- Content can be individualized
Cons:
- The equal control degrades into cacophony as the number of participants increases
Broadcast Communication:
Pros:
- Can simultaneously deliver message to almost infinite number of people
Cons:
- Message can not be individualized to receipeant
- Content controlled only by one person
4) Individualized information can be simultaneously delivered to an almost infinite number of people
-Each of the people involved have equal control of all content
Without technology, this would be an unaccessible medium, such as the sky.
